When ideas compete on a level playing field, everybody wins! Do I want a country dominated by only one party? Heavens no! (In fact, I'd prefer a bit more distribution among more parties, but that's another issue.) Andrew Sullivan writes an excellent essay (I felt) in Salon concerning Joan Didion's essay on 9/11, complaining how many contemporary liberals criticize, but not constructively. I don't want the whole country to sign up for the Republican party -- good heavens, they have their problems too! What I want is to have two or more parties working for our best interest -- each from their own distinct point of view. Each offering solutions, ideas, and research to support their position. Thanks to the illustrious "Jane Galt" over at Assymetrical Information. Add your two cents...
