Fellow St. Louis blogger FunMurphys.com points out an article in Science News which indicates that dogs are better at understanding human gestures than even chimps!

I suspect the conclusion they draw: that this innate ability is due to domenstication, may be false. To really settle the matter, they'd have to experiment with ferral dogs and domesticated wolves, I think.
