This is buried in the previous post, but just to be clear... Stephen DenBeste, probably among others, is on record as saying he suspects a French "smoking gun" may be found in Iraq. We already know that the French supplied the Osirak reactor and fissionable materials used for the first Iraqi nuclear weapons program, and that most recent weapons disclosure reveals the Germany had been knowingly re-arming Iraq (and was their number one weapons supplier since the Gulf war), and now... Last Friday, former weapons inspector Bill Tierney charged the French UN weapons inspector had tipped Iraq off about future targets. The folks at NewsMax.com recorded the allegations. [In fairness, here's a page detailing/alleging other actors, including the U.S., who helped helped arm Saddam back before the Gulf war, but I note omissions (Soviet scuds, for example).] NUCLEAR GENOCIDE is the only answer! Posted by: President Bush on March 16, 2003 02:40 PM I m so surprised that US people are always talking shit about french (like they help this guy or this one out)but always forget that US did train al quaida ... sold weapon to most of the terrorist around the world and i m not talking about training so i ll have one sentence for this type of people take your head off your butt before bush put it too far ... ho i forgot by the way nice going for palestinians US defend only Israel (not even a legitimate country) showing on TV the vitcim of palestinans strike but never when Israel chopper or troop shoot at civilians... what an army just capable of fighting and shooting against kid, womens and sometimes if they are not too scared to armed peoples .... pathetic like US full of shit like Israel 2 country who deserve to be vitrified final period Posted by: Loic on February 9, 2004 04:13 AM Loic, Thanks for your comment. I m so surprised that US people are always talking shit about french (like they help this guy or this one out)but always forget that US did train al quaida ... The US was involved in Afghanistan in the 80s -- and I was opposed to that -- but that was long before Al Qaeda existed. If you have information that the US trained Al Qaeda, I'd certainly like to see it. And the same with arming other terrorists around the world. They're fine accusations. Please back them up. As far as "forgetting" the US has made mistakes: you didn't read the article very carefully. Note: "... other actors, including the U.S., who helped helped arm Saddam..." ho i forgot by the way nice going for palestinians US defend only Israel (not even a legitimate country) showing on TV the vitcim of palestinans strike but never when Israel chopper or troop shoot at civilians... Do you have some kind of obsession with Israel? There's almost nothing about Israel anywhere on this site. I mention an article -- from Germany, mind you -- about German companies and gov't violating the UN's rules about arm sales to Iraq and you seem to feel some need to talk about ... Israel? Okay, as you wish. If Israeli helicopters are regularly, deliberately firing on civilians, that would certainly be horrible! Please supply the information. You are right? Let us all know! You seem to think Israel is as bad as Palestine. Okay, great -- if Israel "deserve to be vilified", and 'Palestine' is just as bad, then logic says you should then also vilify Palestine, whose government teaches it's little children to kill themselves. Or does that not bother you? It bothers me, just as it would bother me if Israelis were regularly killing innocent civilians, on purpose. The US is certainly not perfect, and has made many mistakes in the past, and will make many in the future. I'm more than willing to admit those, and do, frequently, when the evidence exists. Is it impossible for you to do likewise? You want to vilify the US. Fine. Do you also cry out against North Korea, who is starving about 2 million citizens to death? Or is that not a problem for you? Not worth vilifying? Or how about the Islamists who killed millions in the Sudan, with full support of many Muslim and European countries? No vilification for them? What about China -- with no human rights and freedom or speech or religion? Not worth vilifying? What about Saddam, who killed 3 million and tortured his own people merciliessly? Or is that not nearly as bad as your allegation the US once trained some terrorists somewhere? Get some sense of perspective, man. Can't you see how your blind nationalism is making it impossible for you to make sensible moral judgements? It's one thing to dislike the US. It's quite another to lose any sense of moral common sense. Remember, Hitler was able to make the Germans do anything by distracting them with a theory that just one group of people were responsible for all problems in the whole world. Do you not recognize the same pattern repeating today? There are many sources of evil in the world. You accuse Americans of being "simple"? What is more simple, admitting there are many people who make and do evil -- good people and bad in every country -- or thinking there are only two bad countries in the whole world -- both democracies? Consider this seriously. Kind regards, Posted by: Tim on February 9, 2004 05:02 AM Add your two cents...

I remember how Israel was going to build a new submarine class with Ingalls shipbuilding as prime at a German shipyard but canceled the program because of cost before the Gulf War. Then when the scuds raining down on Israel contained German parts, the German government bought them their submarines - the only catch was that it all had to be done by German contractors. So the Dolphin class is now in service with Israel - everything German except for the Harpoon anti-ship missiles made right here in St. Charles.
After Gulf 2, we might get some payback from the French and Germans.
