I was watching an episode of M*A*S*H recently, and heard a line which I remember hearing as a child: Hawkeye quips something about anger, seeing white smoke from the ears, and saying he "thought they'd elected the pope in your head."

That was about 1975, I think -- almost 30 years ago.

That means that the Korean war was, to M*A*S*H, less "historical" than M*A*S*H is to us now. M*A*S*H is further back in history from us than the Korean war was from it.
