Man, Random Observations is fluff-y today!...
Several notes while watching "The Terminator":
- When "The Terminator" sees things, there are (Apple) Motorola 6502 assembly language decomplications at the edge of his field of view. (It's actually kind of telling that I recognized those at the time.)
- When, when, when did the 1980 start to look so ancient and dated!?! This thing looked cool when I watched it the first time. Guess the fish can't tell he's immersed in water.
- When describing the terminator, Sara's bodyguard says he's "microprocessor controlled". Microprocessor! What a quaint term. We don't even bother anymore -- are there any other kind? (Not to mention that "micro", back then, is gargantuan by today's nanostandards.)
- This movie takes up where Colossus: The Forbin Project leaves off. (IMDB rocks.)
- The future always happens in L.A., doesn't it?
- Early product placement: Gargoyles sunglasses.
- Moral: When guns are banned, only cyborgs from the future will have guns! ;-)
- Oooh: Stop motion animation!
