I mean, if you want to know what's going on in New York right, read one of the major news outlets or read InstaPundit, who's on the scene.

Or isn't, but likes to write about it anyway.

My point is: When you want to read a typical late-breaking story of the day, this is not the place to look. I'm not a "me too" blogger. Instead, Random Observations tries to cover:

1. Interesting information that does not get as much press as it ought.
2. Angles of stories which are not well-represented in the news, and elsewhere in the blogosphere.
3. Developments on stories which have faded from the public memories, though their inception was front-page material.
4. Original stories, developed only here.
5. My own random obversations about life, the universe, and everything.
