Jesus Loves the Little Children

Dear reader, The following story touched my heart, and I thought it might touch yours as well. Jesus has profoundly changed my life, and he can change yours as well. Regardless, thank you for your patronage, and I wish that God would bless you. - Tim

It is broadcast day in central India. Jesintha, Bindu and Leena rise early. They have spent many days preparing the scripts for today's radio broadcasts. But before they head out to the studio, they pray. Placing their hands on the scripts, they ask the Lord Jesus Christ to speak through them and into the hearts of the little ones all over India.

Their radio broadcast is called Bachon Ka Dost, or Children's Friend. Begun in January 1990, the program reaches out to the Hindi-speaking majority of India with children's stories, songs and dramatizations. Jesintha explains, "When I sit in the recording studio, I imagine speaking to one child. My only desire is to communicate the love of Jesus to that little heart."

Dear Radio Auntie, I am a regular listener to your program. Because of your stories about Jesus, I received Him into my heart. I love Jesus very much. My mommy noticed I am a better girl now. I help around the house more than I ever did. She asked me why I changed. I told her it was because I learned about Jesus from your radio program. She was so happy, she bought me my own radio! Lovingly, Rinky

Even our radio broadcast for adults, Spiritual Journey, reaches children. The following letter came from a little girl listening in central India.

Dear Uncle, Greetings to you. My name is Pushpa. I am 10 years old. I heard about your radio program through one of my friends. I have two brothers. My problems is with my father. Every day he comes home after drinking a lot of alcohol and shouts as me. He tells me he wishes I was ever born, just because I am a girl. He always asks me, "Why where you born?"

Hearing these words, I am very sad and discouraged. Please pray for me. Yours lovingly, Pushpa

In response, our broadcaster sent Pushpa this letter:

Dear Daughter, Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ. We have received your letter. In John 3:16 it says that God loves the world. That means He loves boys and girls equally. Everybody is equal in His sight. He loves all mankind. Children are a gift given by God, and they are a blessing.

Dear daughter, do not worry. Nothing is impossible with God. Everything is possible. God has created you in His image. You can be sure that He loves you.

We are praying for your parents. A day will come when they will truly love you. God bless you, Your Uncle

Just a few days later, Pushpa wrote back.

Dear Uncle, Greetings to you. I received you letter. The Lord Jesus Christ heard your prayers and answered. A miraculous change took place in the lives of my parents. Now they are loving me. Uncle, I cannot forget your encouragement and prayers for me and my family. Yours lovingly, Pushpa
