I'm watching General Clark on C-SPAN2, fielding softball questions about his candidacy. One cute little girl asked him why he decided to run. He said basically that he felt the war on Iraq was very, very wrong, and that Bush's domestic policy was wrong, wrong, wrong also. And these were *so* wrong, he was compelled to run. Juxtapose this against his earlier claims that he would have been glad to be a Republican if only the White House had returned his calls. So let me get this straight, Wesley. Either you're telling the truth, and you'd gladly have sold out your inner convictions, if only those in power now had returned a phone call? The only other alternative is that you were lying about the phone call thing. One way, he's unprinciped; the other way, he's unprincipled. Pick which one you think is true. Well, I guess I'm done taking Wesley Clark seriously. That was a fun fifteen minutes. Just remember, each time you hear him say how bad he thinks the Bush administration is, that by this own public statements, he'd have been a supporter if only they'd returned his phone calls. what if the bush camp sent old wesley in as a democrat just in case the democrats won the presidential election? then the warmongers would really have it locked up (in case the computerized voting tabulations didn't get bush re-elected). Posted by: on January 27, 2004 08:40 PM Yes, of course. Wesley Clark is really a Bush plant. And so is Dean -- he's just there to discredit the Democratic point of view by being over-the-top. And Michael Moore -- who peddles the far-out theory that Bush hired the Saudis to execute 9/11 -- is really also just a Republican plant to make liberals look stupid. And I suppose you're really a Republican too, based on the same criteria. If you're nuts, I'm not sure you should blame the rest of the country for that. Posted by: Tim on January 29, 2004 05:08 PM you guys are crazy! you are so to the left listen to you guys! you probably support John FORBES kerry who claims he is a veteran but throws his ribbons on the ground infront of the washington mall. He is a money hungry person who married a republican for a wife whos last name happens to be Hienz! yes the ketchup!!!! FORBES and HIENZ!!!!!! Posted by: clark04 on January 30, 2004 11:52 AM Uh, clark04 -- that was humor -- at least on my part. Sadly, it appeared the previous poster was serious. Interestingly, the ribbons Kerry threw away were fakes -- the real ones are still mounted on the wall in his office. And he's also a member of Skull & Bones, just like Bush, if that comforts you further. Posted by: Tim on January 30, 2004 03:16 PM Kerry served in Vietnam ... a war commenly perceived as unjustified ... remember the 60s? Open your eyes. We loose 40000 in traffic accidents every year. I could go on and on. I recommend to everyone to go ona vacation to Europe or Asia and form a REAL opinion on the results of Bush's policy ... I for one want to be proud of my country again and will NOT vote for Bush on Nov. 2nd. Posted by: Carl on August 30, 2004 11:11 AM Carl, And this has ... what... to do with Wesley Clarke? There's definitely something odd about this current crop of Democrats. They seem incapable of having substantive discussion about any topic without thinking it has something to do with Bush and Iraq. Carl: Try reading the article. It's about Wesley Clarke. That's "Clarke": C-l-a-r-k-e. "Bush" is shorter and begins with a different letter. Nor is there anything about Kerry there. No discussion about Kerry at all. Try, just remotely, to stay on-topic, okay? Thanks. Posted by: Tim on August 30, 2004 12:15 PM Add your two cents...
