SwiftVet Media Feeding Frenzy Starting?

Well, Fox has started to cover the story... the usual route for left-unfriendly facts. Without Fox, nobody would have to mention it.

Today, I've decided to adopt Atrios's rules for disproving media bias, and apply them to this Fox News transcript of a conversation between Estrich and SBVT Van Odell:

ESTRICH: I have to interrupt you for one second. I think...

ODELL: Another boat...

ESTRICH: Sir -- Sir, I think it's my turn to ask you a few questions. You weren't a crew mate of Senator Kerry's, were you?

ODELL: I was not.

ESTRICH: You were not a crewmate of his. Right. All of the men on his boat are supporting his bid for the presidency, aren't they?

ODELL: No, that's not true.

ESTRICH: One is deceased, but all the rest are...

ODELL: Steve Gardener (ph) is not supporting him at all.

ESTRICH: But as I understand it all of the men on his boat...

ODELL: When I was in Vietnam -- when I was in Vietnam, the people there on his boat crew did not have the same take on what he is like now.

ESTRICH: So all but one who were on his boat are supporting him. Is that right? And you weren't on his boat. Is that right?

ODELL: I was in close proximity. I was right behind his boat.

ESTRICH: You were half a football field away; is that right?

ODELL: Oh, no, it's closer than that. Sometimes we laid alongside many times. We were close together.

[John Cole, of Balloon Juice: "The press 'Kerrying' the water for Kerry/Edwards. You really had to see the clip to fully appreciate Estrich's vicious tone."]

Wow, how could Fox News let Estrich, who works for Fox News rip into Odell this way if they were really right-wing biased? Proves they aren't conservative -- maybe they're even left-wingers -- right, liberals?

UPDATE, 8/13: Nope, the feeding frenzy has definitely not begun yet:

And what's even more amazing -- and considerably more appalling -- is that I just checked the New York Times and Washington Post sites and there's still absolutely nothing on this story there. A Kerry claim proven false, a retraction, and a retrenchment -- and absolutely no coverage at all. If we were seeing the same sort of questions raised about George W. Bush I think we'd be getting wall-to-wall coverage. It's as is they're letting their coverage be shaped by the fact that they want Kerry to win or something. Kind of makes you wonder what else they're leaving out.

Amazing.
