Will prominent members of the left now finally keep their promise and move to Canada, or other places abroad? Not so fast, say Canadian officials, it can take up to three years to become a citizen.
That's hilarious. It's hard for leftists to get into Canada, their favored nation, because of... the bureaucracy! The irony is too precious. Looking at a map of the "red" (indicating not-red) and "blue" states, I think I have a simpler answer, one which could solve two problems at once. We could simply concede Washington state and New England to Canada. We could trade them for Alberta, which has been pulling more than it's weight and is sick of being part of the rest of Canada. Everybody gets what they want then. It would also deal a death knell to the "America as Empire" myth. I want socialists to live under socialist systems. If that's what they want, I don't want to stand in their way. Show us how well your wonderful ideas for running the world work! (Just in case you forgot that huge experiment we did in the 20th century.) Just do it in another country which wants to live like that again, okay? Add your two cents...
