As you might have noticed, I've reformatted the blog slightly to lose the "Quick Alerts" column -- I wasn't running across enough of those to justify their special placement to the right -- they just tended to stagnate there.

Also, for medium-sized posts like this one, I got tired of thinking of clever excerpts, or even reading the default ones generated by the blog software, which I didn't generally like either. They're not as prominent over to the left.

One of these days, I may re-do this completely, but I've got larger fish to fry at the moment. Thanks for dropping by regardless!
