Rules for Comments

Note: These are the rules for comments, not the original post. Do not post comments about another topic here, they will simply be deleted.

There are a few basic rules for posting comments on this forum:

1. No re-posting other people's entire blog entries or other web pages here. (Small excerpts are fine.) Please come up with your own ideas and opinions (leftists) or at least try. Don't reveal yourselves as the parrots and sheep you are. If you want to point people to some web page you like, use a hyperlink. Try not to post long URLs without a hyperlink.

2. No obscenities, unsubstantiated allegations, no ad hominem arguments. You can insult people just fine by showing their ideas are wrong. If you can't do that, then you lose. Sorry, get some new ideas or just (gasp) change your position.

3. Don't blindly repeat arguments which have been answered. (Quixtar IBOs, this means you.) If you or someone else makes an argument, and someone answers that argument, you must either move on or answer their challenge.

You're not allowed to go back and re-post the original argument again as though it hasn't been answered. This is a waste of readers' time (they've read your argument already) and is disrespectful towards your opponents. You are operating at the same maturity level as a small child who stops up their ears and yells "La-la-la-la! I can't hear you!!!" Your post will be deleted.

4. Stick to the topic. This is not a graffitti board for your irrational, obsessive hatred of George Bush, or anyone else who dares to disagree with you politically.

5. Don't write your whole comment in all upper-case letters. You come across as shouting. (Which is probably accurate, in some cases.) Regardless, this annoys me, and annoys a lot of other people as well.

Repeated failure to follow these few, simple, common-sense rules will get you banned. Think of this as a kind of combination IQ/self-control test, with a very low mark needed to pass.

Thank you, and be careful out there.
