During a recent listen to Air America I heard a rather heated ... uh ... agreement (since there were no dissenting voices, for whatever reason) on the pledge of allegience. The callers seemed to absolutely agree on two points:

1. How dare those right-wingers force our children to have to listen to, or even say, the word "God" in a statement!

2. How dare those right-wingers imply that we're "godless"!

It's truly amusing to hear both these points pursued simultaneously, but apparently, like a cult weekend retreat featuring insufficient sleep and a low-protein diet, if you get into it deeply enough, it'll start to make sense to you.

Some things, you just can't parody.
