The beautiful trick of the left is that they get people to support policies which are the exact opposite of what people think they favor.

In the name of helping the poor, the left convinces people to oppose tax cuts, which help the poor, and favor high taxation, which makes the poor poorer.

In the name of fighting poverty and helping minorities, the left convinced people to support policies which left generation after generation improverished.

In the name of environmentalism, people have been convinced to oppose the most realistic green source of power we have (nuclear), and thus help keep the pollution levels higher than they would need to be.

The left has convinced people to hate "the right" (e.g. any who refuse to become part of the left's latest movement) because they are like the Nazis -- profound authoritarians who seized control of the state and expanded governmental powers. Yet these people do not realize the left's entire program is to seize control of the state and expand governmental powers.

The left convinces people that their opponents are full of "hate", and that "hate" is bad, and then teaches them to "hate" their opponents -- because hate is bad!

The left convinces people that "tolerance" means that you cannot allow "incorrect" points of view to be tolerated.

The left convinces people that to judge person on their content of their character rather than their gender or the color of their skin is racist and sexist. The left honors the one who spoke those words while demanding the opposite.

The left has convinced blacks to support and defend ideas formerly only offered by the KKK: that blacks are fundamentally different than whites because they are of a different race, and that they intrinsicly require help from whites.

The left convinced blacks to loyally support political party which opposed the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and serve as the political arm of the KKK!

The left has convinced people that "freedom of religion" means you can't allow a person to speak, vote, or participate in government if it can be alleged their actions might have been tained by some religious motive.

The left has convinced people that they are "pro-human" even as most their policies focus on reducing the number of humans on earth, claiming poverty is caused by scarcity of reasources rather than the insane policies they promote.

The left claims to be against "patriarchy" and "religious extremism", so they attack southern baptists while defending those who want to promote by violent means a religous sect (Wahabism) which involves absolute subjugation of women and elimination of all infidels.

The left railed against "American imperialism" while supporting the ultra-imperialistic USSR, which exerted absolutely control over it's vassal states and their citizens. In the name of hating "imperialism", these people supported the largest economic and political EMPIRE of the twentieth century! And even today they reflexively support Muslim religious imperialists, who want the whole world to be under their system of government.

They claim to be about "love" while promoting obvious hatred.

They get people who oppose all these things -- poverty, hatred, racism, religious extremism, denying people freedom of conscience, creeping governmental control over our lives -- to support a polical party which objectively favors each and every last one of them. And then assures people they are "good people" because they did so!

And that last biscuit is exactly why so many people do it.
