Last time, I wrote (emphasis added):
So, no shock, he's apologized. If only the left's extremists had the sense to do likewise. Let's recall, again the difference, shall we? Pat Robertson implied God had done stuff to Ariel Sharon because God didn't like his playing nicey-nice with the Palestinians. What about Ward Churchill? He actually advocated killing people. Wouldn't we all be able to agree that was much worse? And while a lot of conservatives, like myself, distanced themselves from Pat's rather, um, interesting theological ruminations -- I noticed instead that professors at CU Boulder -- and around the country, for that matter -- lept to Churchill's defense. Finally, though Robertson clearly has some strange views (how does he find out exactly what the Lord is up to each week?), combined with hoof-in-mouth disease, the guy apparently can be counted on to also apologize after each bout of illness. And again, on the other hand, in light of his lies about his alleged tribal membership, his recommendations of killing, his several documented cases of plagiarism, and his fraudlent resume, Ward Churchill has apologized for... uh... what again? Nothing that's reached my ears. And the same could be said for serial liar Michael Moore, race-baiter and slanderer Al Sharpton, racist Louis Farrakhan, Ted Kennedy, the UN, and a host of other unsavory characters and even criminals that the left still lauds and lionizes. I'll take consevative fruitcakes -- and the conservative reaction against them -- any day, thank you. Being a leftist means never having to say you're sorry. Add your two cents...

I want to say that this is one of the finer posts that I have read on this subject, but maybe thats because I agree with it.
As a Christian I have trouble with the Robertson issue because like President Bush, he gets the big things right. He soon may be reaching a billion people in India with the Gospel through a 700 Club-like program... in their language.
But then he periodically makes himself a target... and it doen't help that groups like People for the American Way are laying for him. (They're the liberal group that "outed" him on the Sharon statement)
Robertson has done some great things for the Kingdom so I tend to forgive him... even if his words sometime make me wince.
Nice site. I'll be back.
