And my two big realizations here are: 1. Any acts of 'terrorism' will no longer be 'terrorism', but rather acts of war, since they now have official state backing; no plausable deniability. 2. All along, I've said things like: "I have tremendous sympathy for the Palestinian people who are trapped under such a horrible government." Well, no more: they've had a chance to vote now, and clearly expressed that, by a huge majority, they prefer priorities like suicide bombings and missle attacks on another group over more mundane concerns like regular garbage collection and having real politicians and a decent infrastructure for your family. (I am reminded of Golda Mier's observation that peace will never be possible in the mideast until the Palestinians love their children more than they hate the Jews.) In short, now both the state and people are necessarily implicated in Palestinian terrorism. Plausable deniability, at any level, no longer exists. Things are, at least clearer. I don't expect many to learn from this. Those capable of learning have already absorbed the available lessons; the deluded will only be acclimated to higher levels of moral compromise, and swallowing bigger camels. Add your two cents...
