On one hand, I envy Christopher Johnson of Midwest Conservative Journal: whereas Random Observations only covers... well, just about anything -- Chris writes about the Episcopalian church -- a source of endless amusement and satire.

On the other hand, he cares (or once cared) about said institution, which means his interest and concern is a bit more than merely academic: the situation is fact, a bit closer to tragic. Given that vantage point, I wouldn't change places.

But he's a good writer, so his consternation is at least amusing to readers like me.
