Nice racket. $300 million a year is taken from taxpayers (of all political persuasions) to fund Planned Parenthood, which then sends $10 million back to into the political process to select and persuade candidates which will... take more money from taxpayers, give it to PP, and then go back into the election cycle again. In effect, it's as if the government itself were funding certain kinds of candidates (pro-abortion, and big-government types -- RINOs and Democrats) and opposing others. Every time the government pays anyone even a single dollar, it bribes them, intentionally or not, to support the idea that we need more government. And it usually encourages some other kind of harmful behavior, such as abortion. I often point out that vice leads to big government, but here's an example of the converse: that big government often encourages vice and harmful policies. The message here is to evangelical Christians who support Democrats, like Jim Wallis, and "values voters" on the right who care about abortion but not about the size of government: A large government is not your friend. A strong government will always undermine your values in the long run. You need to care about small government every bit as much as you care about other more obvious "moral" issues.
