For any of my beloved friends who might possibly, for a fleeting moment, have any lingering doubts about whether they should have supported him in the last election. (And I have little doubt, given his previous statements, he probably thinks Israel had something to do with it.) This slip also confirms my suspicion that he holds his real-belief-cards fairly close to his chest. What else is he concealing? Are his religious beliefs what they seem to be? Racial beliefs? It's too bad sensible ideas (like more sunlight for government) are bound up and linked so tightly, in many cases, with such a flawed vessel. Thanks Mike! Paraphrasing Malkin: "I do apologize for misspelling the contraction of "it is" with an apostrophe. Further, I admit I accidentally added an extra repeated consonant my contact's name. I do also admit to using a semicolon where a comma have sufficed. None of this means Ron Paul isn't a 9/11 'truther'." It's pathetic things people will seize on these days: as if one (or a dozen) minor descriptive errors will somehow make an elephant in the room disappear. I'm horrified, not somehow not surprised, that Paul considers Kucinich more trustworthy than the government in general. Yikes. So: 1. Who does he think did it? George Bush? The Joos? On behalf of who? 2. Who does he find trustworthy? Alex Jones? 3. What else does he believe? He hints as JFK conspiracy theory stuff which, these days (after some pretty extensive debunkings have hit the public), puts him on the same square as Oliver Stone. 4. What do you say about the ethics of a congressman who believes, sincerely, that his government just murdered 3,000 people, but is keeping mum about that fact so he won't be criticized? I mean, seriously, if I thought my government had done that, and I had such a public platform, my conscience was drive me up the wall if I didn't speak out. I'd be enabling they're doing it again. Or is he just playing up to truthers, the way he alleged his own columns, written in his own name, played to antisemites and racist to gain their support? What a creepy guy; he's almost as much a cipher as Obama. Perhaps moreso in some ways. And the sad thing is that he functionally discredits some rather more reasonable concerns, such as increasing opacity at the fed. If I may ramble a bit more, part of me wonders if he started well, but had a stroke or something which resulted in him having a screw loose now. But I don't believe that really happens: such events amplify or reveal existing tendencies, albeit well-concealed ones, as does age. If so, I guess that just highlights the importance of David's prayer (Psalm 139:23) that God search him and see if there's anything amiss inside him, and lead him in the right way if so.
