His defenders don't care. They are above and beyond bourgeois notions of morality, even legality.
And that's the main reason I am grateful for this controversy. It is a dye marker, "lighting up" a whole archipelago of morally wretched people. With their time, their money, and their craft, these very people routinely lecture America about what is right and wrong. It's good to know that at the most fundamental level, they have no idea what they're talking about.
So what happens when one illuminates a tumor, but no one extracts it?
Here's to hoping people stop paying attention to these people, and return to normalcy.

Clarifying moments are helpful, even if you're not quite sure what to do with them. The guy next to you says he works for the CIA, and then you find out he's just off his meds -- you now know what to do about various things he might say to you about national security.
And perhaps this is news for a few random plebians like us, who will take Hollywood one notch less seriously next time.
