I didn't always agree with Bush, but, gosh darn it, the guy was decent, even to those who considered him an enemy:

Former Vice President Dick Cheney said Wednesday that the Bush administration had developed a new strategy on the war in Afghanistan before leaving office — a strategy that he said "bears a striking resemblance" to the one announced by President Obama in March.... "They asked us not to announce our findings publicly, and we agreed, giving them the benefit of our work and the benefit of the doubt," Cheney said.

And I don't always agree with Obama, but, gosh darn it, he seems to take every chance he can be indecent, and even dishonest, even to those who treated him as a friend:

Cheney's comments countered a recent claim by White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel that the Obama administration had to form an Afghan war strategy from scratch because the Bush administration hadn't asked any key questions about the war and left it "adrift."

Look, that's not only indecent, it's stupid. Your predecessor hands you a fleshed-out strategy from some of the best military minds of our time, and agrees to shut up and let you take complete credit for it? Be grateful for your good fortune. But to then turn around a lie, telling the public they were utterly unprepared and you had to do all the heavy thinking? What, you think even a gentleman's going to take that lying down?

This from the guy who promised his presidency wouldn't be anchored in the politics of divisiveness.
